Google Form Embed Error

  Hi! I have been trying to embed a Google Form into a page on my website using custom HTML but it continues to only show as “Loading…” when I publish the page. I have been using the embed HTML that comes from the Google Form “send” tab.

  I do not see any sites under your @amyw963 WordPress.com account when I check on our end. You can confirm by visiting this page: https://wordpress.com/sites.

  Is it possible you created your site under a different login with us or are using another provider like GoDaddy, Bluehost, Hostgator, etc. instead? What is the URL of the site you are needing help with?

  Happy to check in our system so we can take a closer look.

  Hi,

  Thank you so much for getting back to me. I have a website under my university’s domain name: https://globalpoliticaltheoryproject.pages.wm.edu/ My university account doesn’t extend to allow me to post on the forums.

  It is the “Contact Us” page that we are having trouble with. Thank you again!

  Hi again,

  Ah, to clarify your institution is using the free open-source version of the WordPress software (the totally DIY version that devolpers use to create their own WordPress instance) and it’s not actually connected to us here at WordPress.com.

  Basically, they have created their own custom site that does not work the same as sites we manage here at WordPress.com. So in this case we are not able to help (our support tools cannot connect with outside sites) but you do have a few options:

  • Contact your university systems admin and see if they can help. It sounds like they might run a tight ship, and may need to “whitelist” this embed in order for it to work. Definitely the first place I’d check.
  • You can also try the support forum here, which provides support for the variant of WordPress (the DIY software) that your institution is using: https://wordpress.org/support/forum/how-to-and-troubleshooting/

  My gut tells me you really need your institution to help you here, so I hope this helps point you in the right direction!
