Google gofiledrop integration on wordpress.com?
-
I’m having serious issues trying to embed the custom code on my web blog. I need – I should say – MUST have a place for students to upload their work to my web blog. What can be done here?
The code I insert simply disappears after saving and doesn’t show….The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi, read this quote:
If you are familiar with HTML, you’ll notice that codes such as embed, frame, iframe, form, input, object, textarea and others are missing from the above list. Those codes are not allowed on WordPress.com for security reasons.

Ridiculous!
I need a way to have students files to a secure dropbox. Plain and simple I can’t use my blog the way I intended.
So there is no way to do anything like this on WordPress.com?

It’s your opinion.

If the code contains tags like frame, iframe, form, input, etc, it can’t be used on WordPress.com.
But
a) you can put links to download the documents
b) you can use the Box.com Widget:

I appreciate the insight but I’m going to need a way for students to upload work online only. Box.com – doesn’t do this.
I’m a bit surprised that there isn’t an easier way to simply create an open upload link for students to send work into me.
There has to be something else – or I guess I’ll be walking away from wordpress.com. Sad – really sad.
Someone – somewhere out their must have a solution.

Please read this comparison http://en.support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ and then consider hiring a web host http://wordpress.org/hosting/ and setting up your own self hosted WordPress.org install.

Hi – the easiest solution would be to just link from your blog to your hosted GoFileDrop page for students to upload your files using GFD.
If you must have the upload tool embedded on your blog then you will need a plugin such as this to allow you to embed an iframe on your blog.

Hello what are on about here? Please read a full comparison WordPress.com vs. WordPress.org
http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/then you will need a plugin such as this to allow you to embed an iframe on your blog.
There is no FTP access and no blogger installed plugin capability on any free hosted WordPress.com blogs.
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/There is no upgrade that jpwhyte can purchase here that provides FTP access and the ability to install plugins for this.
