Google is suddenly slow in indexing my posts

  For the past couple of years, Google would index my new posts (usually two a day) within three or four minutes, but for the past week it’s been taking them around five hours before my new posts show up. Pinging them doesn’t seem to make any difference. Is anyone else having this problem? Is Google having problems? Nothing about my blog has changed, so I don’t think the problem is at my end.

  Pingomatic is built into our blogs so we don’t have to ping after we publish and if we do we appear to be ping spammers. I’m sorry but we Volunteers cannot help at all with Search engine issues.

  Thanks for the response, timethief. I know you can’t help with the problem, but I was just wondering if I’m the only one to experience this.

  Google recently changed the way they look at blogs, so it’s probably related to the fact they’re basically re-indexing the entire internet. It should speed up once they’re caught up.

  Raincoaster was right. Google is back up to speed today. I’m marking this thread “resolved.”
