Google Maps embed feature not working
-
I have followed all instructions on the wordpress.com support page explaining how to embed Google Maps (http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/) and continue to be unsuccessful. After I paste the Google Maps iframe code into the HTML editor, wordpress.com appears to successfully convert the html code into the Google Maps shortcode. When I publish, however, all that shows up is a link to view a larger version of the map on Google.com.

Timethief:
I’m not seeing the map in any of the following browsers:
Mac OS X:
– Firefox 5
– Safari 5.05
– Chrome 12.0
– Opera 11.11Microsoft Windows:
– Internet Explorer 9
– Internet Explorer 8
– Internet Explorer 7Also, while the text link is being rendered, the map embed/iframe isn’t even being delivered to the browser.

I believe I am having the same problem. I followed the tutorial:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/
but, using FF 6, there is no HTML being generated for the map.
When I first paste the link into the HTML tab of the page, a box appears on the visual tab, but when I press update, and the HTML is changed to a shortcode, the map disappears. -

Yea, I just created the blog, but was making a page. Now I’ve made a post titled ‘Test Post’ in
http://truslowe.wordpress.com/
I also tried this in Safari and had the same result. Here is the shortcode that is being generated,
[googleapps domain="www" dir="maps" query="f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=Los+Angeles,+CA&aq=0&sll=42.358431,-71.059773&sspn=0.432298,0.55481&ie=UTF8&hq=&hnear=Los+Angeles,+California&z=10&ll=34.052234,-118.243685&output=embed" width="425" height="350" /]Looks like it should be creating a

Does anyone have a resolution on this? It’s still broken. Copy the embedded over and it becomes a link :-(
-
Would you please provide us with the iFrame code that Google is giving you?
Please post it here within backticks (the key between the tab and esc keys).

<iframe width="500px" height="300px" scrolling="no" src="http://www.google.com/fusiontables/embedviz?viz=MAP&q=select+col1+from+1306814+&h=false&lat=12.813722478565737&lng=77.48127709960933&z=9&t=1&l=col1"></iframe>and the shortcode that automatically gets generated is:
[googleapps domain="www" dir="fusiontables/embedviz" query="viz=MAP&q=select+col1+from+1306814+&h=false&lat=12.813722478565737&lng=77.48127709960933&z=9&t=1&l=col1" width="500" height="300" /]Thanks in advance.
