google maps engine

I would like to embed Google Maps (from google maps engine). The description in help files is outdated, and results in an error. In particular, I would like to allow the following code to work:
<iframe src=”https://mapsengine.google.com/map/u/0/embed?mid=zbMi2gwZSyqw.k9Aw8K8DnPxA” width=”640″ height=”480″></iframe>The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

That code will be stripped out here. You can only follow these instructions: http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/
-
Those instructions do not work. See the example I just posted: post with bad link.
This seems to be a known problem: forum

And I just dropped a Google map in my test blog not a problem – classic Google Map – iframe code dropped in the Visual Editor and worked just fine – so I trust @Raincoster’s instructions

Yes, the classic Google map works. And, that is what those instructions work for. However, the new google maps engine allows you to do things like create your own maps with places marked in special ways (see: my new orleans map). When you get the code to embed in a website, there is an error on wordpress, as demonstrated by the link in my previous post.

Hi there,
You cannot use the new Google map engine. You must use this older version > http://en.support.wordpress.com/google-maps/If you had searched prior to posting this thread you would have located this thread but the good news is that you can post into it now https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/allow-embedding-maps-engine-maps-on-wordpresscom/page/3?replies=69
