Google maps in footer
-
I am new to WordPress. I have experience with Joomla and Bootstrap, so I am familiar with web development, but still pretty lost with WP. I am building a new website for a client using the Argent Theme and I have 2 questions.
First, can I embed a Google Map for the business address in the left side if the footer? If so, how can I do this?
Second, how do I get the social icons in the footer right like in the Argent Theme live demo? Do I just use standard HTML and maybe FontAwesome?
Any help and examples is greatly appreciated. I am using Elementor Pro for the page design and Udemy courses to help me along.

I don’t see any WordPress.com sites under your account here.
What is the URL of the site with the problem?

I’m sorry, I got the template from here so I thought y’all would be the best ones to go to.
The URL is https://deanm59.sg-host.com/
It’s a temporary place while we build the site.
Thank you!

Ahh, okay.
That theme has its own forum here, for what it’s worth:
https://wordpress.org/support/theme/argent/We help out there too, but that forum is more likely to have the answers about that theme.
For Google Maps, you should be able to add the code to the footer widget area. I want to say just the embed code from Google Maps should do, but if it doesn’t, you might look into plugins and what not or ask in the .org developer forums (I have seen some cases where you need an API key for example) :
https://wordpress.org/support/forum/wp-advanced/The social icons on the demo site were set up using Jetpack’s Social Icons widget:
You could always use some other stand alone social icons plugin instead. But if you’re keeping the site on its own hosting, Jetpack can add a lot of handy features that are designed to work together, from extra widgets to spam protection and incremental backups for paid sites, so I’d recommend looking into that. Or you’d be welcome to host the site here, too.

Thank you for your reply and for pointing me towards the theme forum. Most forums aren’t that nice, and simply ignore if in the wrong forum.
I think I can get by with your help, that’s what I needed to know.
Thanks again!

You bet, Hank. I think you’ll find the other forum is friendly, too. WordPress has pretty great communities all around.
Cheers and good luck with your project!
