Google maps loading on facebook share

  I have google maps in my events but don’t want the map to load in the facebook share. How can I exclude the ‘Loading map…’ from the post share?

  Hi there,

  That’s not something we (or the Jetpack plugin on your site, as your site is not actually hosted on WordPress.com) has any control over. Jetpack’s OG tags suggest an image for Facebook to use, but it’s Facebook’s systems that decide what image to use. If Facebook is showing the map, then it likely means there isn’t any other suitable image they can use – Facebook requires images to be at a certain size, else they won’t use the image even if there’s another image on the page.

  Hi,

  Thank you for your reply. The image for the shared event is loading fine. It’s in the event description that the map and entire content of the event post is populating. Is there a way to limit the content that is loading?

  Good morning –

  Have you tried to clear your browser cache and then re share? Does the correct image populate?
