Google Maps not displaying correctly
-
Hi,
I have created a google map with a GPS trace on it (from a KML file).
Here is the link for viewing in a browser:
And here is the ’embed’ link:
<iframe width=”425″ height=”350″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no” marginheight=”0″ marginwidth=”0″ src=”http://maps.google.com/maps?f=q&source=s_q&hl=en&geocode=&q=http:%2F%2Fmaps.google.com%2Fmaps%2Fms%3Fie%3DUTF8%26hl%3Den%26vps%3D1%26jsv%3D202c%26msa%3D0%26output%3Dnl%26msid%3D105260723656164373181.00047e99f208708790c8b&sll=12.768433,77.295921&sspn=0.335502,0.617294&ie=UTF8&ll=12.658972,77.061218&spn=0.937926,1.167297&z=9&output=embed”></iframe>
<small>View Larger Map</small>Now my problem is while the map displays correctly in my wordpress.com blog the GPS trace (blue line) is completely missing. Just to check I pasted the ’embed’ code is blogspot.com and it worked fine.
All help is much appreciated and thanks in advance for your time

It’s been my experience that metadata like the GPS trace and CommunityWalk overlays are stripped out in WordPress.com. They contain dynamic components which are removed for security reasons.

raincoaster,
Thanks for your reply. However, I think GPS trace is allowed in wordpress. Pls check this ’embed’ link which works just fine:
<iframe width=”425″ height=”350″ frameborder=”0″ scrolling=”no” marginheight=”0″ marginwidth=”0″ src=”http://maps.google.com/maps/ms?ie=UTF8&hl=en&msa=0&msid=105260723656164373181.00047e99f208708790c8b&ll=12.768433,77.295921&spn=0.26587,0.344388&output=embed”></iframe>

Staff have said that the geolocation data are not yet available to post. If you look at the structure of those two maps, you’ll see that they are different. “geocode” is stripped out, when that’s what you want to include.
