Google reader and subscriptions

As most bloggers know by now, Google reader will shutdown soon. However, they don’t even have an obvious link on the google page to access it anymore.

I have noticed that ever since they “hid” the reader from the google page I have less visitors to my blog. I am wondering if others are observing the same, and how to deal with it.

I thought about posting something on the front page suggesting other readers such as Feedly or Bloglovin, but also considered sending an email to all subscribers instead. Is it possible to find out who subscribed through google reader as opposed to followers by email or straight through wordpress?

    thanks for your input

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

It is possible that Google Reader no longer being featured could affect your page views. However, there is no way to find out who is currently subscribed via Google Reader, since that information is kept by Google, and not WordPress.

I’d write a blog post that would be read by such readers suggesting they subscribe via email. They’ll see that in their Google Reader.

    No it is not.

you may want to try using Find Friends Who Use WordPress > http://en.blog.wordpress.com/2012/05/01/find-friends/

Thanks! Too bad I cannot “find” those subscribers.

I think I will add a very short post to be stuck on top – like I’ve seen many bloggers do – suggesting the re-subscription by email

thank you… I am changing this to “resolved”
