Google reader showing deleted posts
-
I was wondering, how long google reader show my deleted posts through RSS subscription. I deleted some of the posts weeks ago and it is still showing through google reader. Is there any way I can choose what to show on google reader or even disable RSS?

I believe this is deliberate behaviour by Google Reader — it doesn’t even attempt to recognize deleted posts, and keeps references to old posts forever.
I checked some of your recent deleted posts. Your WordPress.com blog is correctly returning a 404 Not Found response for them, and they no longer appear in your RSS feed.

Thank you. It seems, there is problem with Google Reader. I also followed discussions at Google reader forum and many people complained about this. But seems, google does not care about this issue.
I also found out that we can read blogs through google reader even after the blog is password protected. Then, what’s the use of offering this feature by wordpress?
I do not know what others feel, but for me, this is utter violation of privacy. May be they will soon learn to respect other’s privacy! Good for them!
Thanks again!

Hi
I have the same problem, It”s been months since I’ve deleted a word file with personnal information such as my personnal cell phone number et other friends personnal information. It was a file supposed to be private but it was visible on Google (don’t know why) and it seems that it is impossible to absolutely delete it.
The wordpress link says 404 error (because the file was deleted) but when you open the link in it’s HTML version, you can see it as if it wasn’t deleted at all… thanks Google…
I tried a 100 times to ask them to do something… I’m still waiting… -
I’m having the same issue. Old posts I deleted still showing up in Reader. How can I fix this?

You need to contact Google. They are caching the old posts in your account, but new people who add the feed won’t see them.
