Google Search Console says unable to index
-
Google is unable to index my site after I reverted back to a [XXX].wordpress.com domain. I was originally using a different purchased domain name, without the ‘wordpress.com’, but which has now expired. I don’t know where to go to reset the DNS / CNAME settings.
Below is the full error message from Google:
‘Verification method: Domain name provider
Failure reason:
We couldn’t find your verification token in your domain’s CNAME records.
We found this DNS CNAME record instead: lb.wordpress.com.Sometimes DNS changes can take a while to appear. Please wait a few hours, then reopen your property in Search Console. If verification fails again, try adding a different DNS CNAME record.
Please fix your implementation and reverify, or use another verification method.’

Hello there,
Many thanks for reaching out.
I see the domain boardroomastrologer.com was in use with the site previously, is this the URL of the property being tracked inside of Google Search console? If yes, you may need to amend that.
