WordPress.com takes care of indexing your site and all of the necessary SEO for you without your having to do anything at all (other than blog)!
Mine doesn’t come up on Google. On trying to add the Google verification code to html section I couldn’t find (header) on mine which is where it said it needs to go. Please help so I show google thank you

I understand how fustrating it can be not being able to figure things out so im more then happy to help you.
1st question: How long ago was your site indexed on google?
2nd question: Have you singed up yet on google analytics?
This is very important because this will allow you to confirm wether or not your site is officially on the radar of google or any other major search engine.
3rd question: Are all your pages on your site SEO optimized with keywords?
Yes wordpress does indeed take care of the indexing of the site but you still need to do alittle prep work to make sure your content is being found by your specific audience.
Regarding verification code issue I found a pretty helpful guide that can get you pointed in the right direction.
