Google search result for my website

    Hi, when I search for my website ‘itdelinquent.wordpress.com’ in Google. The top result is ‘itdelinguent.wordpress.com’ which is not correct. Is there a way to change this?

    The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

    When i search your website ‘itdelinquent.wordpress.com’, is see your website as the top result. Here’s the screenshot: http://prnt.sc/ex12sr

    Try searching your site again and see what’s the result is.

    Thanks itpidusprime. At least now I know its not just me that the mistaken result is being displayed for. It’s also showing the incorrect result of “IT Delinguent – WordPress.com”.

    Can I please get some help on this? not urgent or anything I just don’t want an incorrectly spelt search result :)

    The “IT Delinguent – WordPress.com” is the Site Title that is showing up in the search result.

    To change that, go to My Site(s) → Settings or just click here: https://wordpress.com/settings/general/. Now, change the value of the Site Title field and click Save Settings.

    After updating the Site Title, make sure you post new contents frequently. It takes about few weeks for Google to re-index the blog and its contents. So, it will take some time(few weeks) for the search result to get updated with the changes.

    Till then, keep blogging and posting your awesome contents! 🙂
