Google Search Result Name is Wrong

    Hi there,

    This issue only just started happening recently and I’m not sure what changed. When searching for my site on Google, ‘The Hungry Voyagers’, it appears in the search results with the title, ‘the Food. – Travel.blog’. I’ve made sure that the Site Title in both Settings and Appearance have been set to ‘The Hungry Voyagers’ but had no luck in anything changing.

    Would appreciate any help!

    When I google “site:http://thehungryvoyagers.travel.blog/” I see “the Food. – Travel.blog” only once, all other results don’t.

    Our site only produces the result ‘the Food.Travel.blog’. There is another page with a similar name that isn’t related to ours. We are looking to change our site title from appearing in search results from ‘the Food.Travel.blog’ to ‘The Hungry Voyagers’.

  • Hi there,

    Based on what I see in your site settings, your site title should be shown in Google Search results. I have confirmed that we’re including that info in the source code of every page, as well as in the XML sitemap we make available to search engine bots when crawling your site.

    Sadly though, we’re not in direct control of Google, and I suspect that may be the issue here. We’re passing along (to them) all the info they need to make a correct listing, but we can’t do much more than that.

    The good news you can register your site with Google directly by creating a free Google Search Console account. This will allow you to verify your website with Google, measure your site’s search traffic and performance, and fix issues with your listings directly with them. You can set that up by following the steps here:
