Google Searches – Anonymity
-
My full name is nowhere on my blog profile or settings, I’ve checked this numerous times. However the first thing that comes into google when you type my full name is this blog. It’s my wish for this blog to be anonymous so please can someone tell me how to rectify this please!

Hi there,
All I can tell you is Google did not get that information from us, as we don’t have your full name on our system. Your full name does not appear in your account or public Gravatar profile, so if you did not add it directly to your site it does not exist on WordPress.com. We can’t provide Google with information we don’t have.
But Google isn’t the most popular search engine for no reason. They’re good at what they do. Google can pick up on any instance where you link from your blog to another account, like Twitter, Facebook, or even your email account. If your full name appears on any other service you’ve used in concert with your blog, Google can put two and two together and link your name with your site in their index. It can also make this connection if someone else publicly shared a link to your site along with your name.
The only way to prevent this is to not put anything online, ever. You can try contacting Google directly to ask them to remove your name from their indexes, but I wouldn’t hold my breath that that would be effective.

Hi, thanks for your reply! Is there anyway I can stop my blog from appearing on google search options?

You can set it to hidden from search engines under My Site ->Settings. It won’t disappear immediately, but Google and most other search engines will stop indexing it so it should gradually disappear from search results.
In the case of Google specifically you can also request that they remove the site from their index. First, you’ll need to verify the site in Google Search Console. After you do that, set the blog to hidden from search engines, and then you can remove your page’s URL from Google’s index from within search console:
