Google+ social media icon
-
In the social media widget, available icons still includes the now-retired Google+ option. I am wondering if that option could be replaced with one for Blogger. The Google option does not display the Google nor Blogger icons. It displays a wrench-shaped unsupported icon image. And we no longer have Google+ urls to visit. Thank you.
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there,
The Social Icons widget doesn’t include options for any specific services. It only accepts links, and then the icon is generated based on the service the link is for.
The widget you describe that has specific fields for specific services is an old version of the widget that was retired quite some time ago. When we retired it we did not remove it from any sites where it was added, but it’s no longer available to add to any site. If you remove that old widget from your site, you’ll be able to replace it with the new version.
Regarding Blogger, I’ve added it to our feature request list.

Thank you for your help and reply. I do see options though, to add available links to social media. I removed that old link, and do not see a new version to add, so just put it back as it was. Any unavailable social media links always show that wrench symbol. Google+ still displays for my followers signing in to comment also. Well, it isn’t hurting anything though. Cannot find where to change that either. Thank you for adding Blogger to feature request list.

Oh, here is the page with the social links available:
Google+ is listed. This is what confuses me :)

Hi there,
Google+ still displays for my followers signing in to comment also.
Can you please grab a screenshot of the page you’re seeing this so I can have a look? Take the screenshot and upload it to your Media Library for me to see. Here’s how to do it:

Adding screenshot to my media library right now. The multi-color “G” for Comments is still there. Thank you so much.

That button is for singing in to comment with your Google account, it’s not specifically for Google+.

Oh, OK, thank you. So that would include signing in with Blogger (Google-owned) accounts?
