Google widget

When is WordPress.com going to add a Google+ widget, just like it has for Twitter and FB? With the rise in popularity of G+, this is overdue, and I refuse to use FB. There is already a GoogleCards plugin for WP.org (http://www.tomcatalini.com/how-to-add-a-follow-me-on-google-widget-to-your-wordpress-site/) and I think it’s about time the WP.com crowd got one too.

agree.. G+ has gained some traction already. It’s about time wordpress.com release a plugin.

I’m curious about the G+ widget and the LinkedIn plugin. Any way to get that on the WP.com vs .org site?? I’ve had no luck. Thanks

You can have a Google Plus sharing button on your posts > http://en.support.wordpress.com/sharing/ However, the widget you have asked for is not available at this time.
See:
http://en.support.wordpress.com/code/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/ftp-access/
http://en.support.wordpress.com/plugins/We’ll definitely pursue Publicize via Google+ as soon as it becomes available.
At this time, Google has not provided an API for any service to automatically post to Google+ and the crew behind Google+ have been pretty firm in their stance that they don’t want to see any automated content on Google+, so I doubt such an option will ever be available in the near future. https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/publicize-and-google/page/2?replies=39#post-700337

Sheez. Methinks WordPress just really wants me to upgrade my account because I’m a novice at coding. The web is filled with developers’ work arounds using rel=author but I don’t know how to drop it into the original code that I hired someone to set up.
I’m not sure why Google Plus and Word Press don’t want to help authors like me maximize our SEO. It’s good for all of us.

There’s no upgrade you can purchase that changes anything at all stated here > http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/
SEO on free hosted WordPress.com blogs is excellent.Gogle Plus does not want auto-posted content because it’s available all over the internet ie. auto-posting the same (duplicate) across social media and social networks is spamming – plain and simple. LinkedIn is also taking the same position now.

I am pretty ignorant on these topics but are we talking about the same things that these guys are?

Have you read this http://support.wordpress.com/com-vs-org/ so you are clear on the differences between free hosted WordPress.com blogs and self hosted WordPress.org sites?

I could be wrong but it seems to me that you would probably be happier if you hired a web host and set up free wordpress.org install.
hosting > http://wordpress.org/hosting/
software > http://wordpress.org/
move to wordpress.org > http://en.support.wordpress.com/moving-a-blog/#moving-to-wordpress-org -
You could be right. I’m experimenting with WordPress and learning it as I’m doing it. If I did that, then I’d be paying someone $7 to $12 a month. I’m not sure I’m ready for that. And I have no idea how I do that.
