Google Workspace
-
Hello, I have a wordpress.com account, which I originally hosted my site on. I transferred my site to another hosting provider, but my Google Workspace is still through wordpress it seems. I cannot add users because Google tells me to contact the reseller (WordPress) and I have no sites attached to this account.
Can someone please help? If possible, I’d like to simply transfer the Google workspace to my new hosting service.

Hi there!
We can cancel the Google Workspace account from our end, which will transfer its billing to Google (it will also cancel any remaining validity in your current subscription).
If you’d like us to go ahead with this, you’ll need to do contact us from the WordPress.com account where you own the subscription. If you have access to your other account, you can log in and follow the steps here to cancel your Google Workspace subscription with us.
If you need help logging into the other account, please submit the account recovery form here. Here’s how to locate the transaction ID for payments to WordPress.com.
Our account recovery team will get back to you via email after you’ve submitted the account recovery form.

Thank you. The issue I am having is that under Purchases, I don’t see anything. I was charged again for the Business plan in October of 2022, the transactionID is:
[redacted]
It says I purchased this for mymonson.wpcomstaging.com which seems odd to me. I only want my wordpress.com account so that WooCommerce works on my site. I don’t understand why I’m being charged this much for a business account, I doubt I need that level just to have WooCommerce work, right?
Thank you for any help you can provide!

Hi there,
I doubt I need that level just to have WooCommerce work, right?
You do, actually. Plugins such as WooCommerce can only be installed under plugin-enabled plans, and the Business Plan is the recommended plan for those who wish to install plugins and custom themes. However, are you still needing WooCommerce on mymonson.wpcomstaging.com now that you are moving the site to mymonson.org? Or is mymonson.wpcomstaging.com a different site? If not, I can cancel the Plan for you.
I redacted the transaction ID you posted in the forum, but it did confirm your ownership of the Google WorkSpace subscription. So, I went ahead and canceled that subscription for you. You can use that ID to regain access to your site when filling out the Account Recovery Form:https://en.support.wordpress.com/account-recovery/#account-recovery-form
Please let me know if you have any questions.

Hello, thank you greatly for this – I received an email from Google and was able to establish my plan through them directly without losing any data. I don’t really know how mymonson.wpcomstaging.com was ever created, and if that’s the only site that woocommerce would be on, then I can cancel the subscription entirely. I have WooCommerce on mymonson.org, but it mustn’t be through wordpress.com then. I had asked one of your reps last year about this before my account renewed, but they said I needed the account in order for WooCommerce to work at all. I’m guessing that isn’t the case? Is there any way for you to validate how WooCommerce is working on mymonson.org right now if I’m hosting that through another provider and I don’t have this site on wordpress.com?
Thanks for any additional info you can provide.

So, mymonson.org used to be hosted with us and connected to mymonson.wpcomstaging.com, which is why you had WooCommerce. However, I see the site was moved over to Siteground, and you now are using the self-hosted instance of WordPress with the WooCommerce plugin installed. Therefore, you no longer need the WordPress.com Business Plan since the site is no longer hosted with us. I’ll cancel that out for you.
We’ll definitely miss you here, but feel free to reach out with any additional questions – and we’re always a migration away as well. :)

thank you very much, this was helpful and I appreciate you going ahead and cancelling the account for me!
