  I cannot for the life of my figure out how to add a google+1 button to my blog? I may be missing something here but I don’t see it as a readily available option and I have no clue as to where to paste the code. Can someone please help me?

  Some codes are restricted here for security reasons. If you are referring only to an image then capture a copy of the image and upload it like you do any image. Link the image to your Google+ profile and display it in either an image widget or a text widget placed in your sidebar.

  You can also enable Google+ sharing buttons to appear below your posts.
