My front page image is too deep. How do I lessen the height?
P.S. Graphic designer so think 5 year old when you are talking about text editor and code :P
Thanks!

Hi,
The reasons why your front page is taller than that of the Goran demo, are:
1. Your site has four rows of pages in the menu, whereas the demo has just one row. You could reduce the amount of parent pages to a handful, keeping them in a single row, by restructuring the page hierarchy.2. You’ve more rows of page content than the demo does. Each row of page content expands the height of the displayed portion of the featured image on the Front Page Template a bit.

I’m sorry on two counts. Firstly, in my haste I went and messed up my top menus (which I have since fixed). Secondly, I am talking about the featured image and not the grey bar at the top.
When I view the page on a smaller screen you don’t see the 3 square sub menus below. If I can make the featured image shorter then I will be able to see the menus below. Does that make sense?
Sorry for any confusion.

Regarding the grey bar. That was my mistake, not yours. Apparently the height of menu and the grey bar which overlays it does not affect the height of the displayed featured image.

I’ve also been referring to the featured image. Specifically the displayed height of it.

I don’t know what you mean by “the 3 square sub menus.” Below the header in the front page template you have three featured pages, each with a square image. The appearance of these will not be affected by changing the height of the featured image.
It is the height of the page content, as I suggested above, that stretches the height of the image. You may reduce the height, by reducing the amount of content in the page. Presently, you have the following page content:

Sorry, I was correct the first time. Just ran a test in which I increased the amount of rows in the menu from one to three, and it definitely expanded the displayed height of the featured image. So by reducing the rows from four to one, as you have done, the height of the featured image should have been considerably decreased.
You may further decrease the height by reducing the amount and the font heights of the text in the page content.

Genius! It worked.
Is there a way to take it a step further by changing the code? and reducing the pixels?
Thanks for the very speedy responses!

I don’t know, but if possible it would I think require CSS customization.
