Goran Theme – Displaying Blog Posts on Front Page
-
I’m using the Goran theme, and my front page is the “Front Page Template”. I have my home page as my static front page, and for my “posts page”, I set it to “blog”. I thought this would preview my newest post only, but it’s bumping my older posts beneath the new preview, resulting in a long list of posts in the first column. Meanwhile, the 2nd and 3rd columns only have one preview (for my About and Currently pages). How can I get the 1st column to only show my most recent blog post instead of everything I have thus far?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

To change the number of posts displayed on your blog, go to the WP Admin dashboard at Settings > Reading. Change the number next to “Blog pages display at most” to 1.

This will apply to both your front page and your separate blog page.

That’s disappointing that it affects both of them, but I suppose I’d rather have only one shown on the front page and blog page that two or three or ten posts on the front page. Thanks so much!

You’re welcome!
Featured pages in Goran are really meant for static pages, not the blog placeholder page, which isn’t a real “page.” Another workaround you could try is to create a static page and add the display posts shortcode to it, in order to display a single post. You’d then select that page as a featured page in the Customizer
So something like:
[display-posts posts_per_page="1"] -
Thanks. I’ll take a look at the link. I may end up removing the blog preview part altogether and adding the contact page back in. We’ll see. Thanks for the help!
