Goran Theme – Headers & Featured Images and Navigation Drop Down

  • Unknown's avatar

    I got some really great help here yesterday, and I’m back for more…

    Headers & Featured Images:
    My site http://www.theembracingproject.org, utilized Goran’s Grid layout. From the homepage there is a featured image associated with “Areas of Focus”, this same image also becomes the header image on the “Areas of Focus” page. Is there anyway to dissociate the two?

    Navigation Drop Down:
    I’ve set up sub topics in my navigation, but unlike the Goran Theme page, my site is not recognizing these. I’m missing a dropdown arrow and submenu. Suggestions?

    Hi @kierstinrae, it looks like you are using WordPress but you are not hosted here at WordPress.com (I missed that the other day since a WordPress.com site was referenced). For self-hosted WordPress sites such as yours, I would suggest asking for help in the WordPress.org Goran Theme forum or in the volunteer-based WordPress.org Themes and Templates forum.

    For general questions on self-hosted WordPress.org installations, visit http://wordpress.org/support/.

    The differences between WordPress.com and WordPress.org.

    On the “disassociation” of featured image, if you are talking about hiding the Area of Focus page, I would probably suggest asking about that in the WordPress.org Goran forum since it can probably be done through editing of the PHP script files more cleanly than trying to hide it with CSS. If the above is what you wanted, and you want to try a CSS solution, give the following a try.

    .page .hero.with-featured-image {
        background-image: none !important;
        padding-top: 180px !important;
        padding-bottom: 20px !important;
    }

    On the navigation question, for the submenus to show, you have to create a Custom Menu and then set that menu for the Primary menu location and make sure and save the menu.
