Goran Theme: Post Page Format
-
Hello,
I just switched to the Goran theme which looks kinda neat – great work, creators ! Right now I am adjusting everything, but I encountered a little something… maybe you can help me with that.
1. The Goran Theme features featured images for every page that you create, so they appear on the top (and for example behind the main menu) – which looks GREAT. The only page this isnt working for is the POST PAGE. Is there any way to choose a featured image here too ? Same question goes for SINGLE POSTS, that can have a featured image indeed – but they are shown totally different as on PAGES. In both cases there is a rather simple, coloured bar on top, which doesnt look too good…
2. Unfortunately the general POST PAGE doesnt show excerpts from posts, but the whole post; even if I change this in the options menu. This combined with the infinite scrolling page leads to some serious performance problems. I would rather have it like only excerpts are shown, and that maybe there is an option like “go to site 2, go to older posts” etc like in other themes.
Just these two questions… if they are managable with custom CSS it would be ok too, then I would need the code. Thanks & cheers !

Glad you’re liking Goran so far!

That’s a design decision made by the theme’s creator. You would be able to manually add a header to the blog index and single posts using CSS, but it could become cumbersome to do if you’re looking for a different header image for each single post. If you decide to upgrade your site and need help with the specific code feel free to post in the CSS Customization forum:

I don’t think there’s any option to display excerpts so I’m not sure which options menu you mean?
You can use the More tag to manually display excerpts in any theme that displays the full post:

Let me know if this answers both your questions!

Thanks for the fast and competent reply !
Its a good point, using too many different featured images cound be confusing. But its good to know that this would be possible with css. I will come back to that in the forum you provided, thanks.
And: I always wondered what this ‘more’ thing could be good for… and now its actually the solution for one of my problems. Thanks a lot for pointing me into the right direction :-)
