Goran Theme: Text Overlays the Image and its unreadable when you get to the page
-
Hi …
With the Goran theme, I have images that contain text for the 3 panel section. When I click through to the pages – the text in the image conflicts with the text form the page title. Is there a way to avoid this issue? Or am I limited to only having images without text as the featured page image?
Thanks for you guidance. My site is: http://www.24hourblueprintacademy.wordpress.com

Hi there,
As Goran is designed for a large custom header, we generally recommend against using featured images that include text. As you’ve discovered, it’s hard to control the exact positioning of the image on an individual page and it will also be cropped for smaller devices.
Featured images that work best with Goran are therefore more flexible, decorative or abstract, so that they can handle some sort of cropping and it’s not necessary to control their positioning.
Could you perhaps upload a featured image without any text? You could then include the text in a custom excerpt for the home page.
Another option is to use custom CSS to hide the featured image on individual pages. The ability add CSS is a Custom Design option that’s included in the WordPress.com Premium and Business plans. If you do decide to upgrade, then the following would hide featured images on individual pages:
.hero.with-featured-image { background-image: none; }You can get further CSS help on our dedicated forum, also.
Hope that’s helpful! Let me know if you have any extra questions, too.
