    Hello there,
Expired means over, dead, done and finished. https://en.support.wordpress.com/domains/domain-expiration/ We focus on not allowing domains to expire so others can purchase them when they are auctioned off and that’s why we have an auto renew feature. https://en.support.wordpress.com/manage-purchases/#auto-renew

Staff need details to recover the domain.
    1. What is the domain URL?
    2. What is the underlying .wordpress.com URL?
    3. Exactly which username account registered the underlying .wordpress.com blog and purchased the upgrade for it?
    4. When was the upgrade purchased?
    5. When did the refund request and upgrade cancellation, or the domain expiration take place?

I will type modlook into the sidebar tags on this thread for a Staff follow-up. How do I get a Moderator/Staff reply for my question? https://en.support.wordpress.com/getting-help-in-the-forums/#how-do-i-get-a-moderatorstaff-reply-for-my-question Also subscribe to this thread so you are notified when they respond and be patient while waiting. Hello,

GraciousWordsmith.org expired on 2016-12-30 and is currently in the redemption period.

There is more information about expired domains here:

    Domain Expiration

The good news is that you can still try to recover your domain as it has not yet been deleted, purchased by someone else at auction or sold on back-order. A late renewal fee of $80 will be added to the regular domain renewal cost ($18) and private registration ($8).

If you agree to these costs I can generate a payment request for the amount. Once that has been paid, we can start the process of trying to get your domain back. Should the recovery fail after you’ve paid the redemption fee, that fee is refunded in full.

If you do not want to pay the fee, you can wait until the domain is released but you may not be able to get it back if it is purchased at auction during this time.

Acting quickly is important if you do want to try and recover the domain, so please let me know what you would like to do as soon as you can.
