Granting access to invited users who have already accepted the invitation

  I have invited the first five people to become Users on my new WordPress blog through the recommended procedure for inviting new users. Three of these people accepted my invitation, and their Gravatars were immediately added to my list of users. Two of these peoples, however, have accepted my invitiation, I have received notification of their acceptance through e-mail, and I have further granted them access, but their Gravatars have not been added to my list of users and they are unable to participate. Why would the manner in which the invitations, acceptance of invitations, and granting of access be different among these five people. I invited all of them in exactly the same way?
