graphic elements wont show in ie8, but do in Chrome, Firefox etc….

  Hello all. I have recently created a website using wordpress 3.1 (german version) – using a tweaked template (tweaking went so far as to remove functions i didnt need and replace graphic elements with others of the very same size.

  my problem is: the site works perfectly fine in Firefox, Chrome,… but won’t – you guessed it – in internet explorer. Checked it in ie8, as well as ie7. Have not yet installed 9, but i assume its the same there.

  What it does (or rather doesnt) in iE is: Some of the graphic elements in the background (jpgs) dont show – and amazingly, this is limited to the ones i edited. Still, SOME of the elements i edited DO show up…

  So, heres what i know:
  w3c check gives me some errors (4), but none of them should really be connected to the errors…

  ok, now, i got referred to THIS page from the url the bot just specified for exactly the same reason… odd… can anyone hint me where the proper forum would be for the problem im trying to solve? or can anyone solve my problem in here EVEN though this is the wrong forum?
