graphic not displaying in Nishita in "view site"

I’ve created a page in the Nishita theme with a graphic and text. Mostly a graphic with a little text below it. Saved it, published it, viewed it through “preview” and it looks great, just what I planned.

So then I clicked on “View Site” and only the text shows up. ??? Does the page have to be linked to the site in some way? I thought the page was the site. Or does the graphic have to be a PDF and not a jpg? What am I missing here?

The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Did you publish the page with graphic?

Or does the graphic have to be a PDF and not a jpg?

    Jpg images are fine.

    Hi,

    It’s stevierayvaughantribute.wordpress.com

The graphic was added above the text, in the same window, and in preview they both show up just below the title.

I clicked on the Add Media icon, and then added the graphic. I couldn’t find any other way to add a graphic that resulted in it actually showing up–or at least it does in preview.

The jpg file is 476 kb, 1226 x 644 72 pixels per inch. The Nishita info only lists square images so maybe the rectangle is the problem.

Or maybe it’s having text and image in the same window, but I couldn’t find any other way to add the text. Tried putting it in the sidebar footer (which I may be mis-naming) and no text showed up. It’s just six lines/103 words.

Thanks for the message and for any tips.

I’ve created a page in the Nishita theme with a graphic and text.

It’s not clear where you’ve added the graphic, and whether you published it. I found no published posts on the website, and one published page. The page “Constellation SRV–no telescope required, just close your eyes and listen.” has an image displayed in its content.

Ways to add an image to website included the following:

So, you see, we have no idea where you added the graphic you mention. If it was uploaded to a post or page, then the post or page would have to be published for it to appear.

You might want to familiarize yourself with Nishita theme guide, if you haven’t already done so.

If you want “Constellation SRV–no telescope required, just close your eyes and listen.” to appear on your front page or homepage, then you can do so in two different ways:

    1. Create and publish a post with the same content as the page.
    2. Make that page your static front page.

The graphic was uploaded to a page. I have reverted it to a draft page because the graphic wasn’t displaying. If a published page is still showing I’ll go back in and delete it just to make sure.

I have read the Nishita theme information, but don’t find that it correlates with what I find on the screen when I start creating a page. For example, I didn’t locate the option for creating a static page, and at first set the graphic as the feature image but it didn’t appear then either.

I’ll sign off and work at figuring it out on my own.

    Thanks for the messages.

This page, https://stevierayvaughantribute.wordpress.com/constellation-srv-no-telescope-required-just-close-your-eyes-and-listen/, was displaying with an image previously. Now you’ve either placed it in draft status or deleted it. There was a link to the page in the header area menu. That’s how I found it.

For example, I didn’t locate the option for creating a static page, and at first set the graphic as the feature image but it didn’t appear then either.

“Constellation SRV–no telescope required, just close your eyes and listen.” is, or was, a static page. And that page had a nice image displayed. If it hasn’t been deleted you can easily make that page your front page by following the instructions on the support page Set a Static “Home” Page (Front Page).
