graphic not displaying in Nishita in "view site"

    I’ve created a page in the Nishita theme with a graphic and text. Mostly a graphic with a little text below it. Saved it, published it, viewed it through “preview” and it looks great, just what I planned.

    So then I clicked on “View Site” and only the text shows up. ??? Does the page have to be linked to the site in some way? I thought the page was the site. Or does the graphic have to be a PDF and not a jpg? What am I missing here?
