Graphics

I think I already know the answer but I’m going to ask anyways, the theme for this website is a butterfly, is there a way to have an animated butterfly on the main page and if so how do I do that? It’s probably going to have to wait until the website gets upgraded but I thought I would check just in case. I tried searching the forums but came up with nothing. Thanks in advance!

I’m not 100% positive if this is what you’re looking for but it sounds like you’d like a gif in the header? If so, this support article may be helpful.
I hope this helps!

It’s possible to use an animated GIF as a header, so long as you do not crop it. You can do this even on a free plan so long as it is under the maximum file size. As you can see on crazywickedawesome.wordpress.com it is possible to have an animated header, but you need to create the animated gif yourself.
It looks like the recommended header image size for the theme you’ve chosen is 1400×400 pixels You will need to make sure your gif is that size for it to completely fill the header area. If you look at the header image I’m currently using it’s a bit smaller than that so the image does not fill the entire width.
Please bear in mind that not all themes have the same recommended header image sizes so you may have to create different headers for different themes.

It is also important to remember that not all themes support custom headers.
The reason you cannot crop the header image and still expect it to be animated is because all cropped images are saved as JPEG files which cannot be animated.
