  During part of the set up of the blog at some stage i seleced Gravatar as an option.
  This shows I have an Avatar but i cant see anyway that it links back to my blog.
  Am I missing something?

  I’m not sure I understand what you’re saying or asking. But when you leave a comment on one’s blog, an image which you select corresponds with the comment. This links back to your blog, so long as you’ve put your blog URL into your profile.
