  by mistake I created a gravatar account – i thought gravatar was the only way to get the photo up on my site which is wordpress.org not wordpress.com. I need to delete it and figure how to get my photo on wordpress.org. please help

  Hi there,

  Please follow the below steps to remove gravatar image from the header:
  1. Please go to https://wordpress.com/customize/
  2. Click on ‘Theme options’
  3. Remove the email address mentioned there.
  4. Click on ‘Save & Publish’
