I’ve changed my profile photo successfully. I am set up so that my posts also get published to my social media. I just published a post and on Facebook, the photo of me on my blog post is the old one, not the new one. How can I fix that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Hi there, that’s something you’ll need to do at FB directly. They cache certain things in order to speed up loading of pages. Log into FB and visit this page https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/ and enter your site URL or the URL of the post you shared.
More about this in our support guide at https://en.support.wordpress.com/facebook-image-thumbnail/#image-thumbnail-problems-faq
Let us know how that goes

Thanks Jennifer, I will. I have checked and I am having the same problem with Twitter and LinkedIn. Hate to bother you but can you send me the links for them?
-
Hm, I only have one for Twitter, https://cards-dev.twitter.com/validator but usually it’s not your gravatar that is shared there, but the Featured image from your blog post.
https://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#images-in-publicizeI don’t have a comparable utility for LinkedIn, so I’ve tagged this for Staff assistance.

Thank you Jennifer. I’m wondering if there’s something I missed when I changed my photo on WordPress. I have just noticed that on my iPhone my photo on the list of my sites hasn’t changed. But what’s weird is, it did change on my profile.

Howdy –
I’ve had a look at the site on weinstein365.wordpress.com and do not see any Gravatars in use there. It’d be odd to have it pulled in to something like a Facebook share as @justjennifer had mentioned previously.
The theme on that site has been retired, though, and that could start to cause some wonky things to happen.
My suggestion would be to update your theme so it works properly in all browsers, screen sizes, etc…
The theme options are at https://wordpress.com/themes/

Howdy,
Thanks for taking a look. I did change my profile picture and what’s weird is, in some places you see my new photo and in others (on WordPress) it’s the old one.
I love my theme but I will have a look at the link you provided.
Appreciate your help.

Can you go to https://wordpress.com/settings/ and check the site icon? I’m wondering if the old picture is coming from that.

I wanted to note, too, if you’ll use a featured image in each post you create (and you’re welcome to use the free image library to add them), that image will show up on social media instead of your site icon. So you’re welcome to do that if you’d like.

Hi Supernovia,
I used to use a featured image in my posts and recently I just got bored with that, so I stopped doing it. But thanks for the suggestion. After all these years on WordPress I didn’t know you have a free image library. BUT — I think the problem may be solved now. The old photo was being used as the site icon. I knew that, I had figured that out — BUT tried to change the photo and was unsuccessful. When I clicked on the link you provided, it worked and I changed it and saved it — and hopefully that will solve the problem.
Thanks so much!! You’re all THE best. I haven’t had many problems using WordPress but any time I have, these forums have come to my rescue and the problem has always been solved.

Dropping in to say that the similar tool for LinkedIn is https://www.linkedin.com/post-inspector/. They added it a few months ago to use for clearing their cached data. :)
