Gravatar

I want to delete my avatar at Gravatar forever. If possible, I want to get rid of Gravatar, I mean, dissociate it from my WordPress website.

(OBSERVATION: this account I’m writing to you guys, I have just created because I was FOOLED by Gravatar to create it, thinking that I was creating a Gravatar account…! My primary website is another one — it’s from there that I have uploaded an image to Gravatar)

GRAVATAR is an invasive, not transparent, ambiguous product. I naively uploaded an image to Gravatar while I was building my primary wordrpress website, just for the image to appear next to the URL of my website. But later, thru a friend, I found out that the said avatar is showing to people who receive my GOOGLE EMAILS — I mean, instead of the image I MYSELF uploaded to my google email profile years ago! What is this? I didn’t allow, didn’t ask, don’t pay for, and definetely don’t want the Gravatar avatar to substitute any of my profile images anywhere on the web. This is unsolicited and it’s an invasion of privacy.

I PAY to have my website at WordPress, but I’m certainly not paying to be ENTANGLED in this PARASITE called Gravatar, that disseminates a user’s image without permission, to serve their own interests, not mine!

Follow these instructions to remove the desired Avatar. You do not need to set any image in its place.

The Gravatar account is the same as your WordPress.com account. It’s not possible to delete one and not the other.
