On the new Sites page, and when I have one of my posts open, I see my old gravatar from when I first started blogging – I have deleted that gravatar and uploaded my new one over and over (see my other blog “With Resistance”) but I am still seeing the old photo. I also see that photo when I link my blog to Facebook and there is no other illustration for FB to pick up. I would really like to use the new image. How do I change that?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

FYI.. the photo you see next to my issue is the new one.. so why am I still seeing the old one on the “Sites” page and on FB?

Please read these tips http://en.support.wordpress.com/publicize/#images-in-publicize
We have no control over the images that Facebook or any other social network chooses to display or when they choose to flush their image caches. We really only send them the URL of the post, and they hunt through that for the excerpt and images to include.
You can clear the Facebook cache (which resets what Facebook sees for your URL) here: https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/og/object

Yes. That’s the page. But I also see the old photo on the internet tab, when I have a post open, and also on Facebook when it picks up a post. It’s not a huge issue but it makes me a little crazy because I can’t figure out how to fix it.

The images on the My Sites page are cached data that take days sometimes to rectify after an image chnage. As for Facebook and the images they display see what I posted above please.

Went to the fb link you suggested, re-established the url, but the old photo is still there. And why is it on my Sites page?
-
They show different thumbnails I can choose, but my newer gravatar is not included as a choice.
-
Facebook and images it displays issue is already one I answered above. Also note that I already tagged this thread for a Staff follow-up re: the image on the My Sites page.

As far as the My Sites page… I changed that Gravatar YEARS AGO… I don’t understand why it won’t go away….
-
I just tried FB again, and now it won’t even give me a choice of thumbnails. just the old gravatar that I hate.

The Facebook image display is a common issue for many bloggers and as I said above the issue is controlled on the Facebook end of things.

Also know that you need to stop posting into this thread and wait patiently for Staff to help you. This thread is tagged for Staff and Staff deal with threads in chronological order in accord with the datestamps and time stamps- first tagged – first served, as would be expected. Every time you post here again you move the timestamp further forward in time and that means it will take longer to get Staff support.

Hi there,
The My Sites page shows your blog’s avatar (blavatar) rather than your gravatar. You can update that under General > Settings in your blog’s dashboard, in the top right there.
Please let me know if I can do anything more to help with that. :)
