GRAVATAR AND EMAIL ACCOUNTS NOT LINKING UP

SO CONFUSED!!!
I was made an admin to a blog through WordPress and I was told to sign up for gravitar after logging into wordpress with my given username and password.
I went to gravitar and typed in the username and the password that the site who made me an admin supplied me with. The username and password were REJECTED. by the way, the user name made for me that cannot be changed was my first and last name, with a SPACE in between. i thought that wasn’t even possible for usernames. so i tried to make a new account thinking my email address would link the two accounts; they told me my email address was already in use. I remembered I had a wordpress a long time ago so I logged into it and deleted it. After deleting it, gravatar will still only log me into that OLD deleted account even though i use my email address for this admin account on WP. this is no use because i need gravatar to be linking to my account on the blog who made me an admin. I made a new gravitar account with my same email address but all that did was make me a new, blank wordpress account which is not linked to the admin account. I am so confused and frustrated. Please help, it’s really important! -

You should be able to sign up for a Gravatar account with the same username and password you use for WordPress.com. However you need to make sure you choose “I already have an WordPress.com account”
- So go to gravatar.com
- Click on create your own Gravatar
- I already have a WordPress.com account
- Sign in with your WordPress.com username and password.
You should then be able to manage your email addresses and Gravatars associated with them.
