Gravatar and IP addresses, do I need to store consent?
-
Hi,
I’m building a site which uses the Gravatar service. When my users will see a gravatar, you’ll have – obviously – their IPs logged. It is not so clear what the GDPR says in this case, do you think is it enough to tell the users how data is handled in the privacy policy or do I need to store consent too?
Thanks. -
Hi there,
We cannot advise you as to what you need to do to comply with the GDPR, or what information should be included in your privacy policy, as we are not your attorneys.
You can find information on the data we collect and for what purpose at https://automattic.com/privacy/, but we recommend you consult an attorney if you are unsure what you need to do to comply with any privacy laws.
