Gravatar confusion
-
When I first opened my WordPress account I uploaded a Gravatar as a test image. I’m now trying to change it to the image I want to use, but it doesn’t seem to be working across the board. For example, the Gravatar that accompanies this question is the one I want to use. BUT, if I wish to comment on someome else’s blog, the test image appears.
Can anyone tell me how to resolve this?
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

Have you gone to the Gravatar site and checked the common questions there?
I found this:I changed my gravatar, but I still see my old one on sites!
We cache your gravatars for periods of time, which means that your new gravatar will take effect after the old one expires from the cache. The reason we do this is to be able to serve your (and indeed everybody’s) gravatar images much more quickly and reliably.

Thanks – I had a look at that but I’m not sure that’s the problem. It’s almost as if I have two WordPress accounts (although I don’t) – one image seems to be linked put up a to my WordPress user account, the other seems to be attached to the actual blog itself. So, if I put up a blog post, it’s clear from the image that it’s from my blog. Then, if I comment on it (or on anyone elses blog), it’s appears under my user account.
I hope that makes sense. It must be something I’m doing wrong!

There’s a private blog linked to your username here. Will you please go here > Dashboard > Users > My Profile
Do you see the correct gravatar there?
What do you see when you click the “change your gavatar” link on the gravatar site? -
I alo located this:
Gravatar.com and WordPress.com share the same user database. It’s possible that you registered a WordPress.com account (either for a blog or for an Akismet API key,) which automatically now gives you a Gravatar.com account. If you use your WordPress.com password to log in you should experience no problems using Gravatar. If you cannot remember that password you may use the forgotten password link on the login page to reset your password.

Sorry for the delay in replying. They both display the correct image.
When I’m in my blog, the WordPress taskbar displays the blog name with the correct image on the left top corner next to the WordPress logo. But in the right top corner, next to the search icon, is my name with the incorrect image next to it.
This is driving me crazy!

I have flagged this thread fo Staff attention as I don’t know how to help you with this.

Can you please take a screenshot and upload it via Media -> Add New in your blog’s Dashboard so we can take a look?
-
-
I’ve done this and turned off my privacy settings so you can have a look. Many thanks in advance!
-
Hm, that is very odd.
Would you mind clearing your browser’s cookies and cache?
-
I have cleared the cache and cookies, but only for the last four weeks. Do I need to use the ‘from the beginning of time’ option?
-
I’ve also just created a new blog to see if there’s still a problem. The correct pic appeared came up when I was in the dashboard, but it changed back when I viewed the blog from the front end.
Weird!
-
I’ve also just uploaded via media the email which I received when setting up my new blog, confirming that I’m following myself. It’s almost as if I have two separate accounts, but I haven’t!

Nope! I’ve just uploaded another screenshot of what I see when I log in, in case that’s any help.
-
Hm, I’m just not seeing the problem, even when I log in under your account. I wonder if this something weird your browser may be doing.
So I can rule that out, would you please check from a different browser, like Firefox?
-
I’ve done what you suggested but I’m afraid it’s still the same! What do you suggest – perhaps I should delete my account and blogs and start all over again?!
