Gravatar connected to WordPress
-
Hiya
Wonder if you can help… as I seem to have gotten into a pickle. My name’s Julie and I have 3 WordPress blogs (they’re listed at the end of this message).
One of them is for my partner, Yaniq, whose musical/artistic career I manage.Everything was okay until yesterday, when I tried to make a Gravatar for Yaniq in order to promote him on another site.
The Gravatar button automatically took me to WordPress, so I chose a photo and clicked ok, thinking that all would be okay… but it wasn’t.
Immediately, I was unable to access my own blogs – the dashboards were not visible. I searched to find a way to access them again and it did seem to work, but it’s left me confused because I then received a message from you saying: ‘Whoops! Something went wrong! Don’t worry, this is surely our fault. We’ve just logged this error and someone should be checking on what happened soon!’
I’m guessing that your system is confused because Yaniq’s blog is under my name but I’m now trying to make a separate Gravatar for him in his own right.
Can you see anyway out of this dilemma?
Cheers
Julie

Hi,
Wordpress can be associated only to one gravatar. As you can see in the following thread: https://en.forums.wordpress.com/topic/creating-multiple-gravatar-profiles-under-one-account?replies=8
One gravatar per username account is all that is possible.
WordPress.com associates an Avatar with your email address. So you would only be able to associate your gravatar with your WP account and not your Friend’s gravatar. So I’m thinking you’ll have to remove the blog site from your friend’s gravatar account to have no more issues.
I hope this helps. -
Hello –
Gravatars are associated with email addresses. When you use that email address on the web, on a blog, a comment, etc, it shows the Gravatar. You can have more than one email address associated with your Gravatar. WordPress uses the Gravatar of the email address associated with the owner of the blog.
So when you use an email address on a blog, it is going to use the Gravatar associated with that email address. To remove a Gravatar from a blog, you’d need to make the change on the Gravatar side. Either changing the image or the email address associated should do the trick.
To change your email address for your Gravatar account you can follow these steps:
– Log into the Gravatar.com account you want to change.
– Go to the Gravatar image in the upper right and click Add an Email Address or go directly to this link:
http://en.gravatar.com/emails/new/
– Add your new email address. Check your email for a confirmation email to activate this address.
– Back at Gravatar.com, click My Gravatars at the top of the screen.
– Click on the new address, and click “Make Primary”
– Now click on your old address. Click “Delete this email address” and confirm as needed.
If you would like further help with this, please let me know.
