Gravatar does not appear

Gravatar does not appear. I added the image to my primary email address associated with my WP account, but instead of seeing my photo, I see a grey silhouette icon. What should I do?

A wordpress.com account is a gravatar account. They are one in the same.
Note that gravatar/blavatar (favicon) images do not show up instantly after uploading them. Gravatar images are cached and frequently take several days to display after a change.
Dashboard → Settings → General
Replace “http://INSERT_NAME_OF_BLOG” below with
your URL
http://INSERT_NAME_OF_BLOG.wordpress.com/wp-admin/options-general.php
Do not keep uploading!

To enable Gravatar display and hovercard display on your blog go to > Settings > Discussion and scroll way done the page to “Avatars”.

Did you happen to change your username at any time? I’m wondering if there’s an inactive user in the database that has your same email address.

Hmmmm. I just went into my WP profile and it shows my user name with an underscore: associates_feldman….

@associatesfeldman does it have the same email address, even if it’s an inactive account? It almost seems like that can cause something along these lines. So you might try updating the email address to something else.

@associatesfeldman actually I just re-read your statement. I’m not sure we’re checking the same thing.
If you have access to the database, can you see whether there’s more than one users entry with your email address on it? You can also ask whoever is managing the site to look at that for you. I’ve seen something similar to this just once.
Also, just as a precaution, be sure you’ve got data backups before changing any data directly.
