Gravatar doesn’t appear when I comment, and none appears in my blog.

    I have searched the forums and FAQs but I can’t seem to fix my problem with avatars. Commenters avatars doesn’t show whatsoever, and mine doesn’t show in forums or blogs around the internet.. It appears on my blog and here.

    When I had my first blog http://www.giezela.wordpress.com my avatar (gravatar) appeared when I commented on other blog communities like blogg.no (I’m the only one who uses wordpress), but when I made a new blog http://www.charlottebenedicte.wordpress.com (and imported everything from the old one), my avatar wouldn’t reappear when I commented at my friends’ blogs. I have tried to delete my pictures at gravatar.com, changed the rating, and “checked” my e-mail which they say I should do.

    I’m getting a bit impatient, cause I don’t get much traffic now without my gravatar picture…..

    Getting traffic and having a gravatar are not linked issues. It’s the quality of your blog content in posts that brings in targeted traffic.

    These are the best practices for uploading your gravatar:
    (1) Prepare the image prior to uploading it and make sure it’s no larger than 128 pixels X 128 pixels square.

    (2) The image filetype has to be either PNG, GIF or JPG. Make sure the file name contains only letters and numbers – no special characters – and make sure all letters are in lowercase.

    (3) Also make sure the image file name has an extension (Example – image.jpg)

    (4) Note that there is a time delay while your gravatar image propagates. If you are experiencing problems then go to the gravatar site http://en.gravatar.com/ and read the FAQs as it contains common questions and answers to them http://en.gravatar.com/site/faq/

    All wordpress bloggers can turn gravatar display off. This may be why your gravatar is not displaying on some blogs.

    I know, it wasn’t exactly what I meant by not getting enough traffic.. Without an avatar it’s not as personal as with… And believe me, I have tried everything that the FAQ’s says.

    I have uploaded a picture and everything seems OK in my account at gravatar.com, that’s why I can’t figure out what’s wrong… Especially when everything worked on my previous blog.
