Gravatar image

I am attempting to create a gravatar image, but it is not working. I can get the photos uploaded, and cropped but then when I tell it to use it as the gravatar image, it takes me right back to the homescreen where it says “whoops you don’t have an image.” Help!
The blog I need help with is: (visible only to logged in users)

+1 on creating new gravatars being broken all major browsers. Uploading doesn’t work, but I can find the image in my uploads, once I take it to the cropper and click done. It takes me back to my profile screen but with no new gravatar created.

Hi @srterpe and @chvree2001,
Are you using the method described here?
http://en.support.wordpress.com/avatars/gravatars/#upload-an-avatar
Also, could you let me know the file size or image dimensions of the image you’re trying to upload?

Thanks for the help @jeremylduvall,
Yes, I have followed the steps listed above, as well as a few other ways within the My Profile section. It lets me upload the picture, crop it to my liking, and then instead of getting to the section where the picture is “rated,” it takes me right back to the first screen, “whoops, you don’t have a picture.”
I have tried multiple file sizes and images. I have saved it smaller, and in multiple formats. Nothing seems to upload as the gravatar.

I’m wondering if you have a browser related issue or a connectivity issue. Please work through what follows and report back.
1. If you are not running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/ please try upgrading or switching first.
2. If you are using an IE browser in compatibility mode please disable that mode. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/internet-explorer/use-compatibility-view
3. If you are running one of the browsers and versions listed at http://browsehappy.com/
(a) Try clearing your browser’s cache http://www.google.com/support/accounts/bin/answer.py?hl=en&answer=32050
If applicable see here for instructions on how to clear the cache for Chrome and Safari on the iPad:
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/safari-ipad-clear-cache.htm
http://browsers.about.com/od/howtousemobilebrowser1/ss/How-To-Clear-Browsing-Data-In-Chrome-For-Ipad_6.htm(b) Make sure that you have both third-party cookies enabled and JavaScript enabled
http://en.support.wordpress.com/third-party-cookies/
http://www.google.com/adsense/support/bin/answer.py?answer=12654(c) Disable all browser extensions or add-ons temporarily. Know also that security and firewall programs and programs that run incognito mode or block anything may need to be temporarily disabled as well.
(d) Try enabling HTTPS: http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/
Add both *.wordpress.com and *.wp.com to your list of trusted sites under the Security tab. Make sure to uncheck the box for “Require server verification (https:) for all sites in this zone.” http://en.support.wordpress.com/https/#frequently-asked-questions
4. You can use this link to see if your flash is up to date. http://www.adobe.com/software/flash/about/ If it’s not then go to http://www.adobe.com/products/flashplayer/ and download and install the latest version of flash.
5. Try using another browser.
6. If you are not successful let us know:
(a) Exactly what kind of device you are using to connect to the internet and to WordPress.com.
(b) Exactly which browser (and version of it) you’re using by checking here if necessary http://supportdetails.com/
(c) Exactly what you experience including what any error reports you receive state. -
My browsers are the latest.
It seems like whatever server-side issue gravatar was having the last couple of days has resolved itself I am able to upload and create gravatars.
Thanks.

Still not successful. I have tried on multiple devices and browsers. I have also tried it with a different email address gravatar and everything uploads as expected. Yet, when I follow the exact same steps on my personal email account, it continues to take me back to the “whoops” page. I can see all of the images uploaded into My Profile, but they do not allow me to set them as the gravatar.
a) MacBook Pro
b) Google Chrome Version 40.0.2214.91 (64-bit)
c) I do not receive any type of error messages, simply that once I crop the picture, rather than taking me to the rating section (G, PG, etc), it instead take me back to the “manage gravatars” page where it says “whoops, looks like you don’t have an image yet” – which is right where I started. Thanks again.

@jeremylduvall maybe looking at the db and Ajax or POST traffic would be productive next step.

Hi @chvree2001,
Thanks for clarifying. I see several photos in your photo gallery here:
https://en.gravatar.com/profiles/edit/#your-images
Can you both try directly from this URL?
https://secure.gravatar.com/site/wpcom/
I’ve tried several times in all browsers, and I’m unable to reproduce this at the moment.

Hello again @jeremeylduvall,
It still does not work from the URL you gave me. In fact, when I go directly to that URL and upload a photo and click “next” it doesn’t ever leave the page, it says it is still loading, but nothing happens. I have tried in multiple browsers with the same result.
Any more ideas? Thank you.

Hi!
I went ahead and reached out to you via private email. Can you keep all additional correspondence there?
