Gravatar images showing up at bottom of posts but not actual bio page

  • Unknown's avatar

I have a blog that has several contributing writers who use Gravatar, but for some reason their images are not actually showing up on their bio pages. They show up next to the brief bio at the bottom of individual posts but when you try to click into their actual biography page there’s only text and no photo. my theme is ‘Cheer Up (Child)’

The bio at the bottom of the page:
    https://www.autogravity.com/autogravitas/money/residual-value-how-it-affects-the-cost-of-a-car-lease

    The actual bio page:
    https://www.autogravity.com/autogravitas/author/scott-oldham

I don’t understand what to even edit in order to place a photo on that page and I do not believe it’s a length of caching issue because these people have been in the system for well over a month.

    Please advise, thank you

  • @rickschoenberg I haven’t looked through all of the authors on the site yet, but as far as I can see, the author page on this theme simply does not display a Gravatar at all, even a generic one. That could be a setting within the theme. Are there any author pages that include a Gravatar?

Hi, Supernovia. I never considered that the lack of pictures might actually just be a facet of this theme. And to answer your question not a single one of the Authors displays a picture.

When you say ‘as far as I can see’ do you mean from looking into my page or from some sort of back end knowledge? I’ve been tooling around in the settings for a while now and I haven’t found somewhere to toggle the photos on and off in the bios section.

Are there any clear cut ways to identify whether or not that’s an aspect of my theme or is that going to involve scrolling through the documentation?

    Thanks

  • Ah okay. So the Gravatars are working, just they are not included on that page template.

When you say ‘as far as I can see’ do you mean from looking into my page or from some sort of back end knowledge?

Only from looking at your pages. The site is not hosted here, so we can’t access the back end. I also don’t know the theme you’re using very well, since we don’t use it on our servers.

If they have a support team or a support forum, you might try checking there. Perhaps they’ll already have some ideas. Good luck!
