Gravatar Integration Issues/ Can someone help me with this?
-
here is a transcription from my website host support outlining the issue:
Hi Karla, how can I help you?
Hi Eleonora I need help with Gravtar and My .com wordpress integration*Gravatar
Alright, what is the issue?
when i go to my blog post and scroll down to the author bio area, the profile i made in gravatar is not showing. But the image is populating in the dashboard profile. Also my .com WP’s username is karlastinger (which is what I want) but in another area it presents as username from my .org WP account. So there seems to be something failing herein. would screenshots help?
Yes, screenshots would be really appreciated so i can make sure I understand you correct.
There’s a disconnect somewhere. note the web address wordpress/me, you’ll see i have another username and here in gravatar there is no websites to select automatically. And here you can see no author bio is presenting at the bottom of the blog post.
Yes, I understand. I checked our error and access logs and I can not see any issue on our end. What I can recommend you is trying to reconnect and if the issue persists to contact Gravatars support as it might be bug on their end.
I saw something flash between pages before the post page that said a cache 3 error
Yes, that was a cached file. I just have resolved that issue. However, it is not connected to your issue with Gravatar.
what do i need to say at gravatar to make sure they understand
You can explain it as you explained it to me. You need to tell them that you have issue integrating their system with your website and explain that your avatar is not being visible on the blog posts without any visible reason. I would also recommend providing them with the screenshots as well.

Hi there,
You have two WordPress.com/Gravatar accounts,
stingerkarla, andkarlastinger, each associated with a different email address. The Gravatar profile that will get pulled in on your site at https://karlastinger.com/, is the one with the email address that matches the email address you used for your admin user account on that site. So the only way to change what Gravatar profile gets displayed is to change the email address for your site’s admin account.
The username of your admin user account doesn’t matter – that has absolutely no connection to either of your WordPress.com/Gravatar profiles, and changing your username on WordPress.com/Gravatar won’t change it on your site. Your admin user account on that site is a completely separate account, unique to that site only.
There’s a disconnect somewhere. note the web address wordpress/me, you’ll see i have another username and here in gravatar there is no websites to select automatically. And here you can see no author bio is presenting at the bottom of the blog post.
You’ll only see websites you can select automatically if you have a website hosted with us on WordPress.com. Your site isn’t hosted on WordPress.com, but built using the open source version of WordPress, hosted at another provider.
So to add that site to your Gravatar profile you need to click on the Add Website option, not the Add WordPress.com Site option.
Let me know if you have any questions.
