gravatar is stuck in a loop when I try to log in

I am trying to change my avatar but when I log in using my wordpress log in and then allow gravatar to access my wordpress account it diverts back to sign in with wordpress and so the circle continues…

Hi there,
This sometimes happens and what usually fixes it is to log out of WordPress.com completely, and then clear your browser cache and cookies.
Then log back into WordPress.com, go to Gravatar.com and click the Log in with WordPress.com button. Let me know if that doesn’t help.

Hmm, that usually does the trick.
How about if you go to Gravatar.com and log in there while logged out of WordPress.com?
Can you also please try this in a different browser like Firefox or Chrome? It could be that the cookies are not being set correctly in your browser, in which case a different browser might give different results.

I downloaded google crome on my apple and could log into gravatar.com but in safari still cannot log in. I have wasted three days trying to do this. Not impressed with gravatar.com so far… not a good start.

I completely understand that this is frustrating. And Gravatar does need some work done on it. Ideally we want you to be able to manage your profile from WordPress.com eventually, but that move takes time.
Thanks for trying Chrome. I’m glad to hear it worked. I’m afraid Safari often has problems, as do IE and Edge for Windows users. We try our best to keep our sites compatible with those browsers, but as those browsers are owned by the respective companies they sometimes make changes without announcing them, and we don’t have access to the code to see the changes and compensate for them.
That’s why we recommend using browsers like Chrome or FF which are open-source and use the newest web technologies.
