Gravatar Not Displaying – Email Verified But Not Recognized by Checker Tool

Hello,
I’m having an issue with my Gravatar account and need help troubleshooting.
Problem: My avatar is not displaying in email clients (Gmail, etc.) even after 24+ hours. When I check using the Gravatar checker tool (https://en.gravatar.com/site/check/), it says “There is no profile associated with this email address.”
What I’ve already done:
- ✅ Created a Gravatar account using my business email
- ✅ Uploaded my logo/avatar
- ✅ Set “Public avatar” to enabled in Privacy settings
Received and clicked the verification email link(while logging in/creating the account)
- ✅ Currently logged in with that email account
- ✅ Waited 24+ hours for propagation
Additional issue: When I try to add the email address again through “Add an email to this account,” I get an error: “This email is already connected to a Gravatar account.”
This confirms the email is in the system, but for some reason:
- The checker tool doesn’t recognize it
- The avatar doesn’t display in email clients
- I can’t see the email listed in my “Verified accounts” section
What I need: Could you please help me troubleshoot why my email is connected but not functioning properly? Is there a backend issue preventing my avatar from being publicly accessible?

I’ve seen this happen before — usually it’s because the email isn’t fully verified or the avatar rating isn’t set to “G.”
Try removing the email from Gravatar and adding it again, then re-verify it.
Also, give it up to 48 hours — sometimes it just takes time to update. -

Avatar rating is set to “G”, im not sure how to fully verify email, or remove it since it is the email I created gravatar profile with. I disabled and re-enabled my account. Removed the picture and re-uploaded it, I will wait at least 30 min. before testing it again. But as of now on the Gravatar Email Checker it still displays “There is no profile associated with this email address.” Note that my profile is set to private, does that maybe influence it? Thanks for your help!

Hi @colorfulc84652dcd2, yes, setting your profile to private means that the Gravatar email checker will not find your account; that is why you are seeing the error “There is no profile associated with this email address.”

Sorry for disturbing, I would like to keep my profile private if it is possible. The thing is, Im still not seeing the avatar when I receive mails from that email. Should I set my profile to public if I want that?
Email is for customer support/order confirmations on my webshop and I would like for my customers to see the profile picture when they receive emails from that email address.
I now understand that I should have made Gravatar account with my main wp mail and add this email as a secondary but I think it’s too late for that.
Nevertheless, the problem still stands, im still not seeing the avatar, it’s been almost 72 hours since I first uploaded the avatar/profile pic.

Hi @colorfulc84652dcd2 are you using Gmail? Unfortunately Gmail does not support gravatar, so if you want customers to see the gravatar image, you have to add it to Google or the email provider you are using.
I realised that setting your profile to public or not will not achieve what you desire.
I hope this will fix it.
