my gravatar photo isn’t showing up. I changed it 2 days ago. On gravatar and the user profile on my dashboard the new photo is showing. But on my comments, likes and the top RH box, it is only showing as a blank icon. Please help.

Gravatar and WordPress.com are together forever.
http://blog.gravatar.com/2013/04/03/gravatar-and-wordpress-com-together-forever/After you log into your WordPress.com blog, you can change your gravatar image here > Dashboard > Users > My Profile.
Do note that it will not change instantly because the images are cached and that means it takes time ie. sometimes a couple of days for them to change.
To enable Gravatar display and hovercard display on your blog go to > Settings > Discussion and scroll way down the page to “Avatars”.

Thank you Timethief, I have already done both of those. When I go to the user profile I see the new photo, but when I make comments, a plain icon shows up.
Maybe it’s something in a setting on the gravatar profile?
I see the new photo in the gallery, but when I go to “view profile” the plain “G” gravatar in the one selected. How do I select the new photo from the gravatar gallery to be the one that shows on my profile?

I see 3 images here http://en.gravatar.com/writingtofreedom and from what I see it appears that you selected to display the generic gravatar. However, I don’t have backend access and Staff do so they will help you with this.

Thanks. I want the center photo with the grey upper and red lower background. And to know how I select a photo since I don’t see that function on the profile.

I believe that you can chnage the image selection all by yourself. However, I have 3 projects on the go and as I’m multitasking I cannot do this on my own account right now and provide the same instructions to you. I can click on my gravatar image here > Users> My Profile and end up on a page where I can do these things:
You have selected this email address, now choose an image, below, to use for this address
Primary address (cannot delete) | Don’t use this image | Check this gravatar | Link
Select image (below) to use for the selected email (above) or add a new image

Thanks again, I don’t understand your message. but if you’re too busy that’s ok.
Maybe I solved it. I just changed my rating to PG and the photo started showing up in the top line on my site, but it still doesn’t seem to be showing on comments and other sites. Or will that take a while?
I don’t know why the rating changed which photo was selected.Maybe I’ll figure out how I can select a photo from the gallery later.

I do apologize for being unable to help you. It’s very busy in our business today and I have contracted work processing on a third computer. That said, I think you may have worked out what the issue is. The bottom of the > Settings > Discussion page way down the page at “Avatars is where you can set an maximum rating and default avatar for gravatar display on your blog. In the event that this still is an issue not to worry because Staff will assist as soon as they can.

Staff work through all forum threads tagged for their attention and through all email support tickets in order of datestamps and timestamps – first posted first served, as would be expected.
How long it takes to clear the threads and support tickets depends on how many Happiness Engineers are working on them at any given point in time. It also depends on how complex the issues in each thread and ticket are are.
Don’t bump your thread again by posting into it because it’s not in your best interest to post to it after it has been tagged for Staff help. Doing that means the time and date moves forward and it takes longer to get help.

I can see you were able to set your Gravatar image. The problem is that your image is not rated as suitable for general audiences, so it won’t display sites that only allow “G” rated photos (like this forum and many WordPress.com sites).
That said, I don’t see any reason why your picture would not be suitable for most sites. You can re-rate your image by logging in to Gravatar.com and going here: https://en.gravatar.com/emails/
Just roll over your image and click on its rating, then you can choose to rate it G. Then you can check how your image will display by entering your email address here:
