Gravatar privacy invasion

    I wondered for years why my old Google profile picture pops up every now and then when i register onto a website even tho i deleted it a long time ago. I just found out why !
    Why is wordpress collecting pictures of me and using it without my consent or knowledge ? Turns out i had a gravatar profile and picture for years without having ever heard of the name gravatar !
    The front page of gravatar proudly says ‘Millions of avatar images are being served over 8.6 billion times per day. Join some of the other sites that use Gravatar’
    What a joke ! No wonder why it serves that many avatars if it’s doing it without asking permission.

    Gravatar can be set directly from your WordPress.com account; that’s probably why you never realized you had one:

    https://wordpress.com/support/gravatars/.

    It looks like you have already removed your picture, but let us know if you need more help with this.
