Gravatar Showing up on other sites I post on

    I did not authorise this to happen, wanted to post on a non wordpress site without everyone on the forum being led to my half formed wordpress blog also I used my twitter handle for my wordpress ac name which was displayed also.
    How can I disable gravatar as I assumed it would just be an avatar used within my blog.
    HELP.
    Was considering subscribing to wordpress just this evening, this is making me reconsider.

    Gravatar BEGAN as a way to publicize your identity and avatar across all blogging/commenting platforms. If you don’t want that to happen, don’t use it. Use the Name/URL commenting option, or an identity not associated with Gravatar.
