Gravatar shows old information
-
I just left a comment on someone’s blog, and noticed that an old image of me came up with old information. I want to change the photo and the information shown on the hovercard. But when I log into Gravatar I see my new information, not the old. Comments on WordPress.com blogs seem to be all right, they show the information that I want, but comments on other blogs show the old stuff. I can’t even find the old stuff anywhere in my profile so I can correct it. Why does this happen? What can I do about it?
Old hovercard URL is: http://en.gravatar.com/illuminous. I want to change this, too, but how? I don’t go by that username any more.

You can view and edit your profile at gravatar.com by clicking on the MY PROFILE.
When commenting on other blogs, are you using an email address like gmail or aol?

I did that and MY PROFILE shows my current information, including the email address I always use now.
But when I comment on non-Wordpress.com blogs, using that same email address, the old hovercard comes up. I can’t find any way of changing it.

Do you mind sharing a link where the wrong profile info is appearing when you commented on a non-Wordpress blog? Thanks!

You’ve stumped me. I’m so sorry for not being much help … my only thought is you might have two Gravatar accounts. Other than that, I really have no idea. I’m so sorry I couldn’t help.

Sometimes it takes a while till Gravatar updates the new photo and you can see it everywhere. It might also be your browser’s cache. Give it an hour or so and try again using a different browser.
